Lucinda Holloway Therapy counselling and psychotherapy

WELCOME

We all have times in our lives when we need some support. Sometimes life can feel unbearably difficult and we feel unable to navigate its challenges alone. Other times, we may just feel a little stuck and want to understand the obstacles holding us back and live in a more fulfilling way.

I am an experienced integrative transpersonal counsellor and psychotherapist offering a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to explore your inner world, where you will be met and listened to with warmth and empathy.

Whether you are looking to resolve life’s problems or the more complex problems of life, I can help you to gain insight into your issues, enabling you to clarify and understand your feelings, thoughts, and motivations, and to understand why you might find yourself repeating negative or unwanted patterns in your life. In doing so, you will become better equipped to make more conscious choices, improving the quality of your life and well-being.

ABOUT ME

I trained as an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapist at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Little Venice, London, completing a one year course in the Foundations of Counselling and Psychotherapy followed by a four year postgraduate Diploma Programme. As a member of, and registered with the UKCP, I work within their ethical boundaries and codes of professional practice. I receive regular supervision and follow a programme of continuing professional development to keep my practice and knowledge, deepening and growing.

FAQS

What are counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling tends to be short term and looks at specific problems or issues that might have arisen in your life and helps to find practical solutions to these. It can also be an opportunity to talk with someone, to be listened to and to feel supported.

Psychotherapy is longer term and will go deeper into issues, identifying how patterns of thinking and behaviour may have built up over the course of a long period of time, affecting your experience of life. It enables you to understand your feelings, thoughts and actions more clearly, to consider new strategies and creatively plan for a better future. Whichever you choose, both psychotherapy and counselling can offer you the potential to make important changes in your life.

What does ‘Integrative’ mean? My overall training and approach is integrative, which in practice means that I draw on a range of therapeutic theories and skills, depending on what you are experiencing in your life and what you are hoping for from your sessions. Underpinning my approach is the importance of the relationship between myself and my client. Whilst trust takes time to establish in any relationship, I believe it is the key to good counselling and psychotherapy.

What is ‘Transpersonal’ Psychotherapy? A very simple definition of transpersonal psychology is that it is a spiritual psychology. I believe that every person is a unique and miraculous part of creation and I have a special interest in developing client’s essential strengths and qualities and supporting clients to discover the purpose and meaning of their life.

What happens in the first session? This is an opportunity for us to learn more about each other. It will give me the opportunity to gather some detailed information on your background and what has bought you to counselling or psychotherapy. It also gives you the opportunity to get to know me and ask any questions you might have about the process of counselling and psychotherapy and to decide, before making a commitment, if you would like to work together.

How long and often are the sessions? Each session last 50 minutes and takes place at a set time each week, excluding pre-arranged holidays.

Do you have a cancellation policy? The session fee will be payable if you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice of the appointment time.

Is it confidential? Confidentiality and professionalism is maintained at all times. Professional and ethical codes of practice mean that I receive regular supervision to assist me in my work. My supervisor is also bound by these same professional and ethical codes of practice.

I have experience working with many different issues, some of these are: Abuse, Addiction, Anger Management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Body Image Issues, Career & Life Transitions, Childhood Issues, Depression, Eating Disorders, Panic Attacks, Relationships, Self Esteem Issues, Stress Management.

Inner Bonding®

A powerful six-step process for transforming your life

In addition to working as a Psychotherapist, I am an Inner Bonding® Facilitator-in-Training.

Inner Bonding is a powerful and deep healing process which teaches you how to be loving towards yourself and responsible for all aspects of yourself. I teach the Inner Bonding technique, which is an easy-to-learn system, whilst supporting you with different insights and observations.

My experience both personally and professionally is that Inner Bonding works in a way that goes straight to the fundamental essence of an issue with incredible effectiveness. It is a very simple yet sophisticated process where you can learn how to honour your feelings, whilst also taking responsibility for your part in the creation of these feelings and different situations in your life.

You can learn about your Inner Critic which is the source of much fear, pain, and relationship problems, and how to stop your Inner Critic from running your life with its self-sabotaging behaviours and negative self-talk. Practising the Inner Bonding steps can help create lasting transformational changes, as you develop compassion for yourself, discover your authentic self, creating much more peace, joy, and empowerment in your life.

The 6 Steps of Inner Bonding® was created by Dr. Margaret Paul and Dr. Erika Chopich.
